Even asking someone what profession they do, can be seen as quite intrusive due to the nature of our society and the high value of socioeconomic status. Instead, ask "backhanded" questions - for example, "What industry are you in?". As feminine women who value homemaking, this is especially important due to our desire to form genuine and comfortable relationships. Also, who wants to even be asked about work when they are not at work? Not many people do!
